Hip/Leg Pain

Hip and leg pain are most commonly caused by subluxation of the spine. This can irritate the nerves causing pain and muscle spasms. Your hips and legs support the entire body and give you strength, stability, flexibility, and mobility. For this reason there is a high amount of stress put on these body parts.

Causes

The causes of hip/leg pain are widespread.  They can be overuse injury to the soft tissues from things like running, lifting, and poor posture habits.  They can result from some structural change in body parts such as the misalignment of the spine, knee, or foot.  Degenerative changes can occur in people that have spent a lifetime abusing their bodies or have had serious injury to the lower regions of the body.  The bones, muscles, and nerve endings can deteriorate causing pain and swelling.

Treatment

Your chiropractor will determine the cause of your leg and hip pain. Additionally your chiropractor will discuss exercises to rehabilitate and stabilize the injured and misaligned structures.  They may evaluate to discover if you would benefit from wearing orthotics.
