Massage Therapy

A variety of techniques using the hands or mechanical apparatuses to stimulate or soothe soft tissues of the body for therapeutic purposes. Massage works by kneading and stroking muscles to relax them. The friction created with massage also stimulates the soft tissues to break up adhesions, relax tight muscles and improves circulation. Massage is useful in many conditions in which muscle relaxation and improved joint mobility are desired. It also helps improve swelling that occurs and often “pools” at local sites of injury.
